    Default Transducer

I would recommend you get one of these transducer mounting plates. It will allow you to move the transducer around without putting holes in the boat. The SI transducers are a little sensitive to water turbulence often seen in aluminum boats and being able to move the transducer a little will help avoid it.
    Just my 2 cents.

I mounted mine on the left side... since I already had a transducer on the right side. The directions say to put in on the right side.... (right side being the side if sitting in the boat facing forward). I don't think it matters too much. They say the prop wash from a clockwise rotating prop is greater on the left side than the right side... so to mount it on the right would be better.

Mount SternMate™ directly over the holes in your transom.

JB Weld works good to plug holes in aluminum.
