I saw 2 Saturday afternoon but did not know what type the were. They did not get that close to me.
Major when I was fishing in Clear Creek on Sardis Sunday morning I was treated to a special event. I had pulled cranks to the back of the creek and had turned around and was heading back out to me main lake when I started hearing helicopters off in the distance. I couldn't see them for a while but suddenly I picked them up and it was two Cobras flying west, perpendicular to my heading at tree top level. That was until they reached the creek. Then they banked hard to the right and dropped down below the trees and were headed directly towards me. As they approached I could tell I would have one passing on my right and the other on my left. I stood up and waved giving them my approval and to thank them for their service. They were so close that I could clearly see the person in the second seat raise his arm giving me a truckers horn pull motion acknowleding that he saw me.
They continued flying west out of the creek when they took a hard left to fly up the main lake towards the dam a little ways. This turn was directly over where billbob and jwhite where fishing at the time. When I asked them about the encounter later that day at the campground all jwhite could remember was the size if the gun pod hanging under the nose. lol

I was out in California several years ago with my Guard unit pulling support for the Marines that were on Maneuvers in the mountains and there were several of them flying in and out of the airfield on a constant basis. Talk about LOUD though when a group of 20-30 come flying over at the same time. Here's what I used to work on. Ch-54B SkyCrane
