Doubt it, but haven't heard if the Big Ducer has the same problems with bottom lock like the H'bird. Bet it does, so having the skimmer as well might not be a bad idea. Then again, I dunno if Low has the ability to switch. Prolly does though. Used to have to have an A/B switch. Prolly still do. Dont think there's 2 ports for 2 transducers, but maybe the structure scan black box has 2 ports. ?

Structure Scan black box has 1 port for sonar, nema connections to the HDS unit which leaves the sonar port on the unit open to keep the skimmer.

Yeah, that'd work too I spose. Prolly will lock the bottom better at speed due to size anyhow. Haven't priced just the ducer yet, but I'll bet it's up there. For that reason, I'd prolly want it mounted to where it's out of the water while on plane anyway....especially if I already had a spare ducer.

The instilation manual gives several options for mounting it. Jack plate mount and the like.

999??? that must be a double secret unit, never heard of it. You'll like the 788, I've been using one for a few weeks now, it's sweet.
