797, 997 and 1197 were the only SI units. Whats the deal with the 987? Looks just like the 997 to me. Will it upgrade with the new Down imager as well?

Now there you go again, you let WB think he knows something. You should have directed that question to somebody, now WB has free reign.

Default I know but he has to THINK he's worth something

Actually about the only thing I trust him with is Lectroniks. I found a place that someone is wanting to sell a 987 and wanted to know abit about them

The 987 came out in 2007 and was replaced with the 997 and now with the 998.

Sat's right. He's also ugly, but that's besides the point.

797 and 987, both SI units were introduced at the same time. I think - confirm that elsewhere that the 987 will be upgradeable to down imaging. I may very well be wrong on that though. The 797 will definitely not be. If it were me, I'd pass on buying one and get a 997 minimum.

I've seen 987s recently listed for $1200 used. 'Course, they're smoking crack though. A fair price would be $800. Truth be told though, the cheapest one I've seen used is $1K even. I'd never pay that for a 987 though.
