Yikes, I see your point, but the problem is there are a whole lot more people that read everything every day then there are people that post every day. Take Kent and John, they both check the boards regularly, and make a post every now and then.....or Kenny Browning, been a member for a while now and has like 3 post or something.......it's situations like this that there is no way to really police. I personally don't care if they are members of the board or not. if they pay their money, then there is more going to the winners.

Sorry Kent, John, and Kenny for using y'all as examples.....and I don't wanna hear anything out of y'all, all of you have taken my money this year at one point or another.

I don't fish these things....but I do have a suggestion that none have come up with.

You should have someone that is not fishing to do the weighing and keeping up with the weights...or al least the person keeping up with all the weights and keeping a running total....should not be fishing. One person should keep the Records...and have one person to back him/her up, and do the checks and balances. This main person should be compensated his/her expenses. There is a good chance there will be a lot more entries next year. Expenses would consist of gas money and nothing else.

I am not volunteering but would be open to think about doing it.

What about something like you have to be a CDC member for at least a month before the tournament. or 2 months or 3 but you get the idea.

PSTONE is right the mo money there is the more boats you will have and the championship at the end of the year should be a good turnout even if its 50 bucks a boat you could put 10 towards the champ. You are not going to find many crappie tourn. for 50 bucks

Has anyone thought of having one of the tournaments at pickwick? you would probably have more anglers out of tenn entering.

What about sticking a single pole tourney in there for the spring. I heard someone bring that up at the weigh in and it sounded like it would be fun. Grenada would be a good lake for it.
I don't have a preference on who to allow to fish. I can see both sides, but I think all boats were allowed to fish regardless of how many posts this year. How many showed up to the tourneys that weren't members?

Pstone I certainly wouldn't want to do anything to disqualify any of those three guys but there has to be a way to discourage or eliminate a dishonest joe blow that may be inclined to invest $25-$40 and cheat to win. We don't check livewells regularly and don't do polygraph tests. We had a great first season and I look forward to the next one. Perhaps a recommendation from a member would work or use time on the board as Speckhunter suggested. I think as the size of the pot increases so does the attraction to bad elements.

Tim, Wb can continue to keep up with the weights since he doesn't really fish, just boat rides til it's time for the weigh in.:D

    Default Nex Years FJ's

Just a thought.....Some don't like giving up there money to the pro's, so maybe we could have a pro division and amateur division.
Say if you have fished a cusa or crappiemaster's in the pro division tournaments in the last 3 years, you have to compete against other pro's in our tournaments.
Maybe a pro/am division where a pro must have a amateur in the same boat fishing together, wow... that could really get interesting there...lol

Another thought.... These CDC tournaments were originally intended as a ''low cost'' friendly tournament's among CDC members and family.
Now entrance fee's may be doubled, and double big fish pot, so if we gonna go bigger with everything, and get technical with the rules, let's do like the pro tournament's and have two division's Pro $40 or what ever per boat, and Amateur $20 per boat and be really fair for all fisherman.

I have said it before, but you can't make money fishing crappie tournaments, but if you break even you have done good. The easier it is to break even (gas, minners, ect) the more participation you will get, generally. That's my outlook anyway.
Unless you fish a tourney with me. I let another guy fish one this past weekend and told him we would split the winnings unless it was big fish then the catcher would get it all. I should have kept my mouth shut cause I paid fer the trip, minners and tourney and he came home with $80 for big fish.
