Nothing unusual in mine. Just maters, peppers, squash, and some type beans or peas. this year is purple hull peas. My garden doesnt do alot for the grocery bill since it's like 50' X 50'. It's just a hobby and something to do when I'm not fishing.

We do and it DOES! I don't grow anything unusual. Pretty much the southern standard cabbage, broccoli, sweet peppers, tomatoes, yellow squash, zuccinni, okra, green beans, lima beans, purple hull peas, sweet corn, water melons, cantalopes. I also do turnip greens and collards in the late fall. Our garden is 200'x200' and we put up a BUNCH of stuff, both frozen and canned in jars. We don't do onions and potatoes as they are trouble to keep long and our soil is more clay than anything.

ps. cut zuccinni in to shoestring fries and cook with fish....OUTSTANDING.

The only odd thing I grow is eight ball zuccinni. It grows perfectly round and you pick it when it is about the size of a baseball. It is great cooked stuffed with Itallian sausage.

    Mmmmmmm... Salsa!

I grow a bit, but most of garden is green/wax/roma beans, peas, onions and tomatoes, also grow zukes, spinach and some peppers. Can't plant enough peas and beans to hardly get in the door before my kids pick (and eat) the plants clean!

I have a large section for herbs... lemmon herbana, tarragon, oregano, basil, tyme, sage, chives, and trying to start rosemary. Best thing, most come back each year. Fresh herbs are NOTHING like the dried!
Weird things... 2 years back tried leaks, just didn't go. Last year planted asparagus, just starting to come up.

Besides growing a lot of the things that I saw mentioned above. Peanuts, Blueberries, strawberries, sweet potatoes, asparagus, rhubarb, rasberries. Variety is the spice of life.

I can't really say I grow a garden to save money. Once all is factored in like tiller tools seed etc. I probably don't save much. I grow one because then I know what has been used on my veggies as far as pesticides, herbicides and because the taste of homegrown fruits and veggies is so much better

I buried some crappie in it. I'm still waiting for them to sprout into some slabs.
It is taking to long so I planted a spring mix on top of them. Seems the mix is doing better than the crappie

I think gardening is in my blood, can't seem to quit. Grow the full array with the exception of sweet corn, and my brother farms so he always plants a few end rows in a field for us.
