    EB, I might be wrong, but I think your A/C compressor runs when you are in the defrost setting...It did on my last Chevy & also on the Tundra...

    There has been some talk around my work of loosing oil in the chevy transfer case, mainly in early 2000 models. Most of us that has them has checked the oil but it takes a special kind, so I've been told. A friend just had some trouble when his went empty and rubbed a hole in the case, $1200 worth. Its easy to check, might be a good idea, I did.

    Thanks for all the input. When i do get it fixed, I will make sure and engage the 4wd regularly. (that is, if i don't sell it!!)

    BTW went fishing today for sauger and only caught 2 and they were too short. We went in my Dad's Toyota......
