    Default Computer question

I have 2 HP Pavilions. One has a 500 gig hard drive and the other 1 terabyte hard drive. Can those drives be swapped? Both are running Win 7.

You can swap them out but chances are when you do you have to call microsoft and reactivate the windows 7. Other than that they should work just fine.
Be as smart as you can, but it is always better to be wise than to be smart.

You have a 2 hp motor attached to your pavilion? No wonder its a hard drive.

Bill, I'm curious how this turned out because I'm wondering if matching hardware configs were even picked up by your OS.

Are you trying to swap or add additional storage? Adding would not cause any real additional work. Replacing would require some work.

I haven't done anything with them yet. I'm still working on getting my new one on line. I think what I can do is just swap graphic cards as that is what is wrong with mine and then use the easy transfer tool. That way she will wind up with a one TB drive instead of the 500 gig she now has.

Never saw a PC yet that had to be programmed because you put a new hard drive in that was already loaded with Operating system. windows weill note the differences in the PC and apply settings that are for the machine it is in.
