Actually in ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION dollars Franklin Delenore Roosevelt wins this 1 by a margin of about 60: 1. Granted Obama didn`t inhereite THE single worse mess in US history, it was only the 2cnd worse, but he also inherited 2 major simultanious conflicts to boot, all being paid for on 1 credit card and even by WW 2 standards, wars are EXPENSIVE anymore. And am sure you can "suggest' to the next REPUBLICAN President that HIS kids don`t "need" that level of protection EITHER, okay? "Suggest" he save the US TAX PAYERS some nickles and dimes at the expense of HIS kids` safety...Lastly, WILL AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY we the US TAX PAYERS do NOT WANT Pakistan to have "newer, better" weapons to share with the Taliban, and God knows who else. The US spends literally 11X MORE than the next 10 countries COMBINED on "defense". "Helping" an actual REAL "ally' and promoting democracy and SELF SUFFICENCY is 1 thing, trying to "buy' `friends` with weapons for dictators, warlords and plain tyrants sticks in my craw. We have far BETTER uses for that money right HERE in the US...like for SAFER more SECURE schools with armed WELL TRAINED security persons in them. Oh, yeah, and maybe someday getting "back in the `BLACK` fiscally speaking...

Would you be willing to pay the additional tax required to to put that caliber of armed guards in all the schools in this great land or do you believe a piece on every adult hip in the classroom would result in a highly trained self defense unit?... If you believe that then maybe we are wasting our tax dollars on the secret service, just require everybody that is going to be in the crowd when the president is going to appear somewhere to be packin.

Tell you what, I spend a little time thinking about your post, and felt compelled to add a little something.

I just wonder, just a crazy idea I'm sure, but if....what if, we stop sending money to baby-factories who never worked a day in their lives, but cash-in for using the ability to bear children as a source of income?

What if...we stopped supporting those here illegally, I mean, they're criminals, aren't they?

What if...we stopped spending Billions on wars we have no sense being in in the 1st place?

What if...we stopped supporting career politicians when all they do is make laws which give them more, and us less?

What if.... we stopped funding Czars who's only purpose is to invade our privacy?

Now I could get into all sorts of other gubberment waste, but I've probably just solved half the budget right there.

Now, just taking those things I mentioned, I wonder how many $35-$40K (or less) a year Armed Guards could be put in place, and still be WAY ahead financially? Wonder why someone else in office never thought of that? Hmmmmm, certainly something that makes you scratch your head, huh?

Like I "suggested"; PRESS the next Republican President to FOREGO HIS kids` having ANY protection to "save" a few dollars, OKAY? Can we have that as an IRONCLAD publicly ANNOUNCED campaign PROMISE? I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN every Al Quida/ terrorist member would VOTE to get him into office...nothing like knowing you have ALL KINDS of potential EASY gained LEVERAGE. would rather see an armed guard or two with AR'S in schools (along with a few conceal/carry teachers) just for the sheer fact a handgun is a bad match up against an AR, rifle, or even a shotgun........
