Too bad your not coming through Illinois I would take you up on it sounds like a lot of fun hope you have a great trip!!
and in 10 days I'm pullin' outta here southbound. Planned on stopping at Patoka (Southern Indiana) to fish a few days, but looks as though it may get too cold (upper 20's) at night during that time and I don't want to fool with draining my solar water heater just for a few days, only to reconnect it before heading further South. So, looks like my 1st destination will be Hillman Ferry.
Spent most of today cleaning inside the bus, checking tire pressures, fluids, belts and hoses. All that's left is to hook-up to the trailer, catch-up the laundry, top-off the fuel and 'fridge, and hammer down! (lol, I can hit 65MPH if I hit a flat 5 mile stretch of road, them hills are killers though). After driving up all those hills last year (and spending time on top of the Cumberland Plateau), I was shocked to see my transmission fluid still looked brand new when I checked it today. I took some hills at 10MPH and was scared I would end-up buying a transmission before I got back to Indiana, but it was all good.
Diesel here was $4.09 today, but good thing is it'll get cheaper the further South I get, at least it did last year. Looking forward to hookin' a few and "inviting" them for supper.
Keeping fingers crossed, and knocking on wood!
