I'm glad the US is doing well, but I've never been able to get into soccer.

Can't argue with that. If it were up to me, I'd completely overhaul the Olympics. There would be an "Olympics for Men" and an "Olympics for Women and Kids".

"Olympics for Men" would consist of three sports: women's beach volleyball, women's figure skating, and women's gymnastics. All other sports would get lumped into the "other" Olympics.

I care, I care very much. I don't care about any other sports, they bore me. Soccer on the other hand is everything, passion, creativity, hard work, skill, etc. For a die hard like myself that game was 90 minutes of anxiety followed by shear elation.
The legendary English manager, Bill Shankly, once said of soccer:

"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."

He was not wrong. Just because you don't understand it enough to enjoy it does not diminish the at that it is the most popular sport in the world and that World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world eclipsing even the olympics. And the achievement of our boys so far has been fantastic. Bring on Ghana!

    i agree with this.

sad to see so many in our country get hyped up over roid ragin' baseball players and tattoo covered thugs putting a ball in a hoop but won't support the team when it comes to soccer.
