Outdoor Channel has shows called Gold Fever, Prospecting America and The old Buzzard. They say $100 for every inch deep you want it to scan. They usually show on Saturday mornings about 11 am.
Pretty cool shows, and the guy Tom Massie and his brother Perry who does them are the owners of the Outdoor Channel.

Thanks for all the replys. Ive gone out 3 nights so far and found a total of about $2.50 and already broke a trowel:rolleyes:. Im not bowled over so far but it is interesting. You guys with tesoros, are your machines really chattery?
Im not happy with mine after the last 2 outings. Im not finding anything deep. And when i do seem to get repeatable signals deep i never seem to find a target i had a few holes 8-9" deep andthe detector was still reading a coil at 4-6". Really most of my targets are only 2-3" deep if that. Kind of dissapointed because i havent even found a wheat penny yet much less an older silver coin. Had a few the other night i could not get out because they were in roots and id like to go back and get them. I really have to get that coil all the way to the ground to get more consistant targets and my ground is not mineralized. Probably going to send it in for service and see if there anything they can do. Glad to see there are others here who are interested in detecting. And i just got cable and have been watching the gold show, they are really pi$$ing me off:D.

Hi robbor, never have used the Deleon but I'll try to help.
Tesoros are great machines, although not the deepest, except for maybe the Tejon. If youre getting a lot of chatter some things to try, replace batteries, clean the coil and check scuff cover, back off the sensitivity, and check your ground balance. Finding old stuff is not easy, go "low and slow", check target at different angles, repeatability is important but not a must. Check out treasurenet.com theyr'e are peeps on their that know way more than me.
As far as trowels invest in a lesche trowel, pricey, but you won't be dissapointed.
Best of luck!
been doing it since 1985. stick with a major brand & be patient & you will be rewarded with some great stuff. i was a fisher dealer for years till they sold out to another company so i use a fisher 1265 which is old school but i have 5 show cases full of stuff on display i have dug over the years. you have to do research & find out where people were at in the old days & try to find places that have not been hunted to death. like i said be patient spend some time digging trash and learn what the detector is telling you & you will soon learn what not to dig. i like civil war stuff but sites are hard to document in okla. good luck & fill those dug holes.
