Hmmm, usually it's the females who make the most noise. And I'm not talking about crickets.
When cutting Grass the last few Days -- I took my Cricket Cage and gathered up about 50 of the little Black buggers, { notice I said Bugger not Boogers} !!! Having a Bad double case of Insomnia that Crickets chirping might be just the thing to sing me to sleep --- Ever had a cricket get in the house and sing its little head off .. they can hear you coming and shut up so you will not find them... let alone turn on a light.... I went to bed about 9:30 and not one chirp till almost 1 AM, so I put them in the open Bathroom window so they could hear the Crickets outside ---- Not one Peep from the Cage till after 3AM when I finally went to sleep... When I woke about 7 I Looked up Crickets on the Computer --- Where I got Educated. Not all Crickets Chirp,, and Females don't at all .. The sound is made by the Male searching for a female. The Chirp is not made by the wings but by the hard covering over the wings -- Lots of Crickets do not have wings .... Death Mutes, I must have a cage full of Mutes.. I dip the Cage in a bucket of Rain water twice a day for a drink and sho enough most are Males and without wings. In Two days the wife heard only one Chirp. Yesterday I went out with a Second Cricket Cage and gathered up another cage full and this time There are more Big crickets with wings. and after a drink they went in the bathroom window, ready to sing all night long. Another long night trying to get some sleep and never one single chirp.. when I let some Dogs out for their duty I listened and some Crickets were doing their thing singing for the Girls. If they think they are Traumatized wait till I take them fishing...
Hmmm, usually it's the females who make the most noise. And I'm not talking about crickets.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

I forgot to tell the Rest of the story with the second cage gathering !!!! I have grabbed a couple of dozen then something was Knawing on the back of the hand holding the Cage. There was a Cricket biting,, I dropped it back in the cage and continued. That night I told Delma that MOSES THE CRICKET was wanting me to let his people go when I put him back into Captivity .... I wonder when the seven Plagues start ... I never felt like a Pharaoh before ... When the laughing stopped she was wide awake. She said they were singing at 5 AM this morning. When I put them back in the window last night all the crickets had got off the wire and sitting on the bottom of the cage till I picked it up to go in the window. Did I just break up Prayer Meeting ??? No singing when I finally went to sleep after 3 AM again --- you think they are Protesting ???
