Archaeologists today were removing an ancient Indian dugout canoe from the bank of the Red River near Belcher in Caddo Parish. It was nearly 34 feet long and is estimated to be 800 to 1000 years old. It will be sent to Texas A&M for restoration. I sure would like to see it!

A few years back when I was down visiting my son in Monroe we run over to Vicksburg and saw the ironclad. Pretty cool story and the museum with all the recovered artifacts is very cool.
