Ouch! Didnt realize she had no insurance. Well if you are leaving the walls open for a bit then you should be able to tell in about 2 weeks if you can poke a screwdriver through it rather easily.

That stuff is not like the old board. It would crumble. This is more glue than wood and has all but replaced plywood. Supposed to be stronger and more water proof. We will see. Contractors are stretched out for sure. Randy, all those bigger rivers did retreat pretty fast. But the little bayou by our house is barely falling also. It is in the banks, but usually falls faster. Hang in buddy. I believe it rained a lot above you guys the last couple days. That paddlin wife of yours looks like she is hanging. Trump came by today and visited several areas. I haven't watched any news or FB today, so not sure how it went. He Visited the community where we raised our kids and one of my daughter's friends said she saw him.

Finally get to cross after seven days, 18" of water:
Just hope the rain holds off.

Still crossing the water, a very slow fall in the river:
At least we're not paddling. Don't like seeing the snakes cruise by being that low in the water. The snakes, mosquitos, and fire ants are out in droves - unbelievable. The road that runs along the Vermilion (Wilderness Trail) around here still has water on it in places as well as in some folk's homes - still.
Also, lots of very large horse flies around. When they bite, it hurts. These large horse flies remind me of the ones in Texas, roughly an inch or more long. As kids, we would catch them and tie sewing thread on them and fly them like kites.
Randy Andres
I thought they were big enough to throw on a saddle and ride, in Texas. After all they are "horse" flys. And they got some big teeths.
