Scott, how does that make you feel? lol just kidding.
Well...I just learned something new today.
I was considering a night fishing trip to Cypress, and last time I bought my sticker, I was told there was no longer overnight fishing within the park due to some problems they've had with people messing things up. Today I called to confirm if the Parks Rd launch was left open at dark, and he checked with the sheriff (who monitors it for now) and confirmed it is.... However, about 11 pm, the authorities start moving people off the lake. Apparently there's no fishing on the lake after 11 pm. Same applies to Black Bayou.
I'm saddened to hear that, as I've enjoyed overnight fishing there on numerous occasions over the years. I can't help but wonder if this was caused by pressure from the homeowners around the lake, or some other reason. The guy that answered the phone said he'd only been there a few months and it's been like that since he started.
Is anyone in the area aware of any other lakes with similar conditions?? Very disappointed about Cypress now.

It seems as though they have been trying to make those lakes private lakes for years. Just my opinion.

Yes sir D....bothered by it and guess I had to vent a little.
Pastor, That'll be a sad day for the area if it happens.
Scott, what about the folks who are camping in their rv park? Do they run them off of the lake as well? Just wondering because my wife and I used to stay there sometimes and the rv park has its own ramp??????????

No idea Pastor. I didn't think to ask about it, as I don't have an RV, but I'll be sure to confirm before I go camping there again.
Well, Scott, we don't have our travel trailer any longer, but I remember spending several nights chasing noodles around the lake and catching loads of catfish. I guess those days are gone! Alas! Alas!

I live on BB and have never heard of this! There is a night tourney on the lake every other Friday night and it lasts until 2am. A couple of Saturdays ago, we ran noodles until around 2am and there were other boats fishing the lake all night.
I do know they close up the park sometime after dark, but never have I heard of them closing the launches.
Were you actually on the lake and experienced this happening first hand? Sounds like someone you talked to does not have a clue!
As far as homeowners wanting to turn these into private lakes, too much money for the park, launch maintenance, dam maintenance, etc. is raised from lake stickers, launch fees, etc. I am not so sure the Lake Commission could survive financially just off homeowners fees. Sure you may have a few rich do gooder homeowners that want this, but have never heard it being pushed by the lake commission.
BA, that may be the case. I had called the gate at the park and spoke to someone there who told me this. When I bought my sticker, they told me they didn't allow the overnight fishing on piers any longer. So when I asked this guy on the phone about the launch, and mentioned fishing in front of the pier if I wanted to, he proceeded to tell me about the 11 pm curfew. Maybe, as you said...he didn't have a clue. I guess I can always head out and just fish until someone comes along and tells me to leave.
Thanks for the input.
