Gathered these blackberries from the domestic bushes today. Ernie really wanted one. LOL I put them in a ziplock in the freezer until we have enough to do something with. We still have 3-4 gallons of wild blackberries/dewberries from last year so we didn't pick any this year.

Ernie wasn't allowed to have one, otherwise he would be pulling them off once ripe once he tasted them. That dog is a knucklehead. You folks have to admit, those are nice.

Just got a rain on my little garden. Got a hundred acres of soybeans in the bottom that just got wet for first time since they came up a week ago.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I did some picking this morning. Ate my first ear of corn. Looks like in 2 weeks the rest will be ready. Picked some beans, okra, cucumbers and my first eggplant too. I also made some blue berry and strawberry jam.

Randy those berries look great. I tasted a couple off my vines but they are not producing this year. I need to find another variety. You don't happen to know what variety those are?

Yesterday I transplanted my okra from flats to the garden and watered them in good. This morning they all looked good and standing tall. Around 4 o'clock this afternoon we caught a downpour for near a hour with a lot of wing in it and my gauge has 2 inches in it. It was rain that was well needed. I checked the okra a little while ago and they are still standing tall. My onions need a drink real bad as they are just about ready to be harvested. This rain will help the bulbs get bigger. No super onions this year but I will have some nice ones.

My peach tree is loaded with fruit. I picked a few a couple of days ago but they still need a week to be a peak ripeness. Last year the tree had 5 peaches, this year a couple of hundred.

Here are some pics from today. I made a small eggplant casserole with deer meat and deer sausage. I cooked the okra with bacon, deer sausage, vidalia onion, diced tomato, and balsamic vinegar. I cooked a deer burger with diced deer sausage, vidalia onion, red bell pepper, and garlic. It doesn't look pretty but it was good. What made it taste better was I either killed, made or grew about 80% of the ingredients. I also made some blueberry and strawberry jams.
