I inherited a BBQ pit, propane powered. I have always use charcoal before but since it was free, why not. Ribs turned out pretty good which surprised me. We also had a big pot of beans, some green onion sausage, and some garlic bread to go with the ribs. Turned out pretty good for a first try.

Thanks fellas. Randy that table is made of cypress. I was going to build it myself but my days have been full and I needed a table quickly. I found this one 40 X 40 for an acceptable price. The guy that was to build it went on vacation and his brother build it. Well he's no craftsman like his brother, and there were some problems with the table. The more I looked at it the more I was dissatisfied with it. The finish wasn't great, the boards weren't flat and glue up left some to be desired. Just when I was about to call up the brother that was supposed to build it. I saw it for what it was. It a unique craft table build by a less the talented craftsman, but built just the same. I fell in love with it. I did sand and refinished the top more to my liking but now I'm satisfied with it.

Went to The lighting ceremony at Mt Rushmore tonight.Awesome patriotic ceremony. First a few songs played then a film was viewed. This talked of the idea behind the monument and went in to the idea behind the 4 presidents picked. It was well presented and done in a way to not be political. Then the lights were turned on and everyone sang our national anthem. Then all military past and present were called to the stage to lower and retire the flag for the night. I was in the upper section and was one of the last on stage, however the 2 guys behind me both had MS. We all had to say our name and branch,, then got a nice ovation. As if this was not enough, then the real honor came for me. I stayed with the 2 guys with MS and helped them up the hundred or so steps to their wheel chair. Another vet with Parkinson's also stayed with us. That was what made me feel honored. Those 2 friends did all they could to get to this ceremony, which was the last one until next Memorial Day.They thanked me profusely for my help and mentioned they did not think they could ever come again and were so glad they made it. I thanked them for their service and had to get going, before I started crying. I was met by a huge hug from my favorite person and my niece. A great finish to this area, on to Yellowstone next.
