Great Post Mike! Your son looks like he's been doing this before. Maybe he could give me a few pointers!
Took Zachary out to a local farm pond for a little fishing this morning. All artificial, no minnows. Bass fished for the first 1 1/2 hours or so with only two bass caught and about 4 or 5 missed. They got a lot of the grass to quit growing on this pond and it has completely changed the bass fishing. We used to catch 20-30 a day easy. Not big, but fun none the less. Put our bass rods down and put the jigs out for some trolling. As always, fish caught 2'-7' down in 8'-12' of water while trolling. Pictured below is #25 for Zach and #100 for me. I told him I caught 4x more fish cause I fish with 4x more jigs :D . Not many big crappie in this lake and none caught today. All were between 8"-10" and all thrown back to try and catch another day. Last picture is the jigs I used. Two single jigs and two double jigs. Most fish caught on black/chartreuse slider and john deere green curly tail, but fish caught on all jigs. Good morning to be out with my son. I'm sure we look funny riding around in a 10' john boat with 6 rods out in rod holders  :D .
