    Default High Rock 5/5/08

Well, I finally got to go to the rock yesterday. Put in around 7:45am @ buddle and headed for Abbotts. Went under Holloways and to the left. Wanted to see if I could get any shallow. Went all the way to the back and started there. Water temp was 71, boat in 4ft of water. Fishing the bushes. My friend caught the first one, nice 13" fish on a minnow just on the outside rim of a bush. We proceeded to catch 7 more from the same area with 3 being over 10" ( my new keeper size). Bite stopped at around 8:30am. After that, we could not find any more anywhere. Moved to other coves with no luck. At 11:30 we went out to the main lake, too windy! We went up in a cove and fished till 1pm with 3 keepers. The wind died down around 2:30 and we went to the main lake. The first area we fished we caught 9, 11" and better (biggest was 15". Weights unknown. I forgot to check the battery). We fished 4 docks on the main lake and caught 10 more, 2 keepers. We went back to the first area on the main lake and caught 7 more keepers. Water temp is now 74. Ended the day with 25 keepers. We caught fish from 2ft to 11ft. They were scattered. the one area was the best. It felt good to finally be on the water again, but man am I sore this morning. A little sunburn and my trolling foot is stiff. Hope to see you all saturday. :D

    Default geart job

great job there crappiefinder, sounds like a good day on the water. HPcrappieman and I put in at southmont and started in the swamp and some other main lake coves. We finished up at the mouth of buddle and had 23 keepers mostly on minnows and only a couple of jigs. Most of ours came in 6-16 feet of water and some on brush and some of deep docks.

Gilby, sounds like you had a good ay also. By the way, 4 of my keepers came from 2 of your jigs (Black/Blue body chart. Tail and the all chartruese jig). Thanks for the jigs. Check your pm.
