    Angry Price of Minnows


    What is everyone paying for a dozen Minnows? I went to my usual "source" (Falls Lake Grocery) and discovered that they raised the price to $1.79 per dozen .

    Guess they are staying up with the mealworms & crawlers.Between bait & fuel you gonna have to be a dr,lawyer or judge to be able to afford to do it anymore.

    I thought the price of minnows had gone up last weekend at the other store closer to Hwy 50 also but didnt think much of it till I saw this. I believe they were $1.50 a doz there but I could be wrong. I think they use to be $1.25.

    I found it does not take long at all for a couple of minnow traps to pay for themselves.

    Yes everthing is jumping up really fast!! I wish my income would go up at the same pace. But I guess social security doesn't care if I can afford to go fishing!!

    It's $3.08 for 3 dozens here at Daddy Rabbits or the "Spartan Express" on Hwy 8 in Lexington, haven't stopped by Michaels in a while so I don't know about there...

    Hopefully they don't read our boards and jack up the prices to match others....

    I guess the cost of fuel for hauling minnows as well as the cost of all the other things associated with maintaining a minnow farm.

    I was there last Thursday and paid that $1.79 and thank goodness the lady scooped the minnows.
