I’d have a conversation with the repairman first but that’s just me.
I have a 98, Johnson 90 hp boat motor. I took it for service and had to get a new ignition because the key was broke off in the old one. When I got it back, now the trim button will not raise the motor. It will go down but not back up. The buttons on the motor raise and lower good but the one on the control will not. It was working fine until I got it back. Do any of you know a qualified mechanic that works on Johnson boat motors in my area. I am in Wilkes County. Any suggestion would be appreciated

Yep, me too. That was exactly my first move. It did not go well.
Anyway, I fixed it myself. Switch was out of line on the handle, moved it back in place and it works

If it didn't work when you got it back and repairman didn't want to help you then other people need to know who he is so they don't use him.
Yeah, I know what you mean but stuff happens I ain't too bad to want to run down anybody in business. I have had my boat serviced a few times there and been well satisfied. I figure this might have just been a schoolhouse mechanic. Most of the younger generation learn from books and the internet and basically just know how to swap parts. Finding an old codger that sleeps on a greasy pillow is rare these days. I will be looking for a new place and have got some good feedback on another Forum. Might have just been having a bad day.
