What ramp do you use? I use Fearington, Ebenezer and Poe's and they are open round the clock. New Hope?
Curious, does anyone know why most of the ramps on Jordan Lake open so late (8 am)? I’ve always found this odd, especially in the warmer months, when fishermen typically prefer to get on the water at dawn to beat the heat (and catch the fish).
I don’t have a rocket powered boat (I catch most of mine from my kayak or canoe with a small trolling motor), so I have to always launch close to where I want to fish instead of one of the 24 hour ramps.

Those are official NC Park ramps that are opening late. They are the bankers of the state parks. Fortunately they leave Ebenezer and Robeson Creek open 24 hours a day. Farrington is operated by the NC Wildlife service and open 24 hours. The Wildlife also does not charge fees for having tournaments. That's why just about every tournament on Jordan is out of Farrington. All of the ramps should be open at least 30 minutes before sun-up, but not on Jordan.
Here's the deal on Poe's Ridge:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages two recreation areas at B. Everett Jordan Lake. Poe's Ridge Boat Ramp and the B. Everett Jordan Dam Day use area. Poe's Ridge Boat Ramp is open year round and is a U.S. Fee Area. The cost to use the boat ramp is $5.00 per vehicle, per day or you may choose to utilize a Corps' annual pass or an America the Beautiful pass. Except for periods of high or low water, the ramp is open 24 hours per day every day.
