    Default Lake Norman Tomorrow

I've been a bit under the weather lately and still not better. With that being said; I can't stand it another day being cooped up in this house. So me and Mrs. SandySkiff are planning on hitting Lake Norman tomorrow and see what happens. To quote an old sailor. "I can stands what I can stands, but I can stands no more" ! Wish us luck. Will let you know how it turns out.

Well Lady SandySkiff and I braved the wind yesterday at Norman. It wasn't all that bad until after lunch. We launched at Little Creek and fished several brush piles in 15 to 20 feet of water with zero results using minnows and jigs (some in stained water, some in clear). Then moved to fishing around brushy piers, started out in back of the creek in muddy water) Lady Sandy Skiff caught a largemouth that would weigh around 2 pounds with a minnow on 10 foot crappie max pole with 4 lb. line, that was fun to watch). Moved to piers on main river channel and brush, I caught a spotted bass that may have went a pound on a slider jig. It was then after lunch so we motored around looking for bait and schools of fish on the finder, did not find anything promising. Decided to go back in Little Creek and just troll jigs and see what happens. Started in front of landing and trolled to the back of the creek to the left past the water pump station with no takers, not even a bass. The wind was pretty hard to deal with by this time and it was after three oclock so we called it a day. I hope I get the hang off this crappie fishing soon. Bass sure are easier to catch. Crappie sure are tastier. Results - 2 bass, 0 crappie.
