Default Falls Lake/Eno River white perch

I need to catch a decent number of white perch Thursday to use as bait this weekend on a catfishing camping trip. Wondering where the thickest numbers of them will be this time of year. Also, what methods would catch them the best. I feel like this time of year last year I got into them real good just longlining jigs in the Eno. It may have been later on in the winter though. We will be camping near williamston on the Roanoke River. We have caught perch with worms in the Spring there, but not sure if they are as thick this time of year. And we would rather spend time catfishing there then spending time trying to catch bait. Thanks for any and all advice!

Size: 89.3 KB hardydk1, I posted this picture on the SC board last week. I caught a white bass and a white perch about the same size at the same time. I took a picture of them. A lot of newer fishermen down my way hasn't saw a white bass in lake wateree, there all but gone.its a pretty good comparison of the two species.

I have gotten into white perch and white bass schooling together a number of times when longlining. I know a lot of people can't tell the difference between the two. Catching them together in the same schools makes me think they can't tell the difference between themselves either.

Down here where I fish, wateree and santee use to be slap full of the white bass. The perch started showing up and the white bass started disappearing. I really enjoy reading the NC board about the white bass run on the Eno, makes me want to pull the boat up there. I'd suggest if you are catching perch there, keep all you catch, they might not be the problem for the white bass but I believe they are culprit.

X2 what Buzzy said. Last year I caught a lot of perch in the shallow water near the 3rd power-line. The few times I have went this year, I have not caught one. I wish I could help more
