    Default Operation North State (Take a Veteran Fishing)


    Hey guys it is time to start up the Operation North State events for disabled veterans. The next one is on Norman on Thursday April 14. Terry Snider says we need about 14 more fishermen. This is not a competition. You can fish for bass, crappie, stripers or whatever. You will be paired with a wounded warrior or a disabled veteran for a day of fishing. There will be door prizes, food, and plenty of friendship to go around. All it will cost you is some gas and a little time. You will be more than repaid by what you will experience. You can contact me or e-mail Terry Snider at [email protected] to get more information or sign up.

    These events are awesome. A few people on here have participated and will also tell you about these events. I look forward to them every year.

    No, I am planning on using live shad to catch stripers, hybrids, and spotted bass. You will catch something if you do this. Last year we trolled with artificials for stripers and caught several species of fish including an 8 pound striper. Our people were tickled to death. I don't know much about crappie on this lake but I think I could find some. If you are going to try crappie see if someone on the board can help you. I will help you all that I can. You know me.

    I wish I was off. Would be glad to donate my time and boat.

    Those who are fishing the event, shoot me a message days before and ill guide you towards the fish. There has been a hot striper bite going on the last 3 weeks.

    Ok, I think I'll do Stripers too, I'll need some help on getting bait Where can I buy or net Shad? Are you flat lining, planer board, down lining? I haven't fished Norman in 10 years.

    I am going to bring shad from High Rock but I am only going to use a small tank or I would bring some for you. It I get a larger tank before then I will try to get you some bait.

    Guys we still need 5 boaters on Lake Norman for a full field. The event is Thursday of this week.
