    Default Javelin boats

So the insurance company is finally coming through and cutting me a check for my current boat. I've been looking at a javelin with a evinrude. Its an older model but the compression is good in the motor and the lower unit has been rebuilt. Any one have any experience with them?

I don't know much about Javelin boats but I wish I still had my Javlin American Motor's car, it was a 4 speed.

Might've missed what happen. But what went down with your boat. Livewell couldn't hold all the crappie and you sank it?

I like mine. The only thing is the front deck is a little narrow for two people

The voltage regulator messed up and caught on fire. Luckily I was back at the ramp when it happened. I didn't get hurt but the motor is a total loss.

, Stratos, Javelin, HydraSport, Champion, Evinrude, and Johnson were all part of OMC. When OMC went bankrupt Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) purchased the remains of Evinrude and Johnson while Genmar (parent company of Ranger) purchased the remains of the boat brands.

After the purchase, there was a reallignment. Hydra Sport became a saltwater only line and Javelin was phased out after the 2002 model year. The 2003 Stratos 185 "J" series was a Javelin hull and still exists in the 285 XL. The 2003 through current 200 XL is also a Javelin hull.

They were/are good boats and I wouldn't hesitate to buy an old Javelin boat that has been taken care of.

What lake are you heading to? I'm heading to Harris tomorrow night with my daughter then probably taking a couple of kids from church Sunday evening.

Out of curiosity what's the reason you didn't replace the motor on your boat?
