    Default Jordan lake

Has anyone fished Jordan Lake lately? I had to take most of the summer off due to 2 deaths in the family, but I am anxious to get started again. I am debating whether to try Jordan or Harris for crappie. Any suggestions?

I've had good suggest at Harris at night. Been fishing 18 fow but the fish have been suspended around 10-12 fow. Catching them on minnows.

Going to be on Jordan this Saturday. On June 26, the Army Corp daily water temperature report showed the lake water at 87 degrees. This morning the temp was down to 80. Falling temperatures will increase the bite as the fish fatten up for Winter.

Dennis, are there any fish left after the Spring slaughter?

The surface temp was 78 degrees wed. AM. It warmed to 84 by late afternoon. The temp sensor on the bow is about 1.5 ft deeper and it was reading 4-6 degrees cooler. The water level is down about 4 ft. There are some ramps here and there that are closed. All ramps at Farrington are OK.

The fish are beginning to concentrate around the Farrington Bridge. Lots of bait.

There is no thermocline above the 64 Bridge. The thermocline is the deepest I have ever seen it- 24 ft. above the 64 bridge the water is hot all the way to the bottom. Met some personnel from Solar Bee that were taking water samples; they comfirmed that there was no thermocline.

As the water heats will the thermocline come back through out the day?

Jordan has been very gracious this year. I fish mainly mornings from daylight to noon and have only missed limit one time(average twice weekly). Fish have been holding tight to structure in the creek channels. They seem to bite minnows and jigs equally. I'll use minnows one time then jigs on the next outing. Average size is 11 1/2 with several 15 and 16 pulled out. It has been a great experience this year. Not been to Harris much this season, but I usually start hitting it in mid October. I have met several locals this season and learned a truckload..... Good Luck!

Fantastic. The trolling motor is unbelievable. Stow and deploy automatic with push of a button. Very stable platform to fish from; i fished this past Sunday.
