    Default High Rock 3-29

I gave the lake 2 weeks to warm and clear and hit it again yesterday. Water was 54 two weeks ago and 55 yesterday. Fish were in 18 FOW 2 weeks ago and 13 FOW yesterday. The only big change was they wanted to bite...a little... yesterday. They wouldn't touch a jig. Had to use a slip bobber rig with a plain hook and minnow about 5 feet down. It took about 3 hours. But, after 5 dozen minnows, I brought home 18 fish between 9" and 12.5". I think I could have done better with better minnows. Mimi's on Highway 8 has the smallest minnows this week that I have ever bought. I guess I'll have to find another bait shop.

That's pretty good glad to see someone else catching em good...We took our limits both Sat and Sun with ease on high rock...most boats fishing deep long lining and spider rigging... we've been whacking the crappie in shallow staging areas... but only on certain sections of bank and certain water temps...yesterday afternoon flat swamp had water temp ranging from 59.1 to 62.3 second was 58.3 to 60.4 and where we were the water was from 59-64 degrees by late afternoon...this week of warm weather should get the fish really fired up

I think so too. It was very cold Saturday and Sunday for this time of year though, so I wonder if it won't take a couple of warm days to get the temps back to where they were.

Yea I was surprised that the water temp didn't really fall off as much as one would think dropped 3-6 degrees in places... throughout the weekend...wind was a pain in the @$$, but other than that it was fantastic fishing...been catching em staging in 3-6 ft of water the past month
