Welcome from Lexington!
My name is Rick Joyner and I live in Stokesdale. Life long resident of this area. I have not fished much over the last three years but hope to correct that going forward. These days, I mostly fish the small city water supply lakes in this area. This past Wednesday, I fished Lake Higgins for about 4 hours and caught 25 crappie and 1 yellow perch. Water temp 42 degrees. All fish caught longlining jigs in 16' to 24' of water. Fish were on or near the bottom. Had 3 fish that weighed 1 lb each. I was well pleased as this lake is not known for larger size crappie. Kept a few for the pan. I hope to meet some of you on the water in the future.

Welcome Rick, to CDC. While I firmly believe that no one knows everything there is to know about crappie fishing, there are some folks on here that come pretty close. The fishermen on this site are not only knowledgeable about crappie fishing, but passionate about it as well. Hope this site proves as useful to you as it has to me over the past few years. -Brian, Port City

Welcome Rick. I grew up in Stokesdale. Are you related to the Joyner who work at Parkers or Stokesdale HVAC?
