Monk, I am afraid it is a temporary respite. I did well last fall too- 9 straight trips with a limit. I am happy there are some fish there, but I am not catching any small fish- almost like there was a very poor spawn in 2013 and 2014. Friday am, in 4 hours, I caught 40 keepers and only 6 short fish. We'll pay for that in a couple of years.

We caught a lot of short fish. Still catching a lot of 9.5 inch fish. Probably will find smaller fish in shallower water. In the Fall the shad are mature and sometimes too big for the small fish.
We caught a lot of 3 inch fish this Spring.

Went night fishing with my brother a couple of weeks ago and caught a lot of fish. The ratio of keeper/undersized was about 1:1. Probably kept around 40.

Just talked to my Father and the last time he was night fishing with my brother, they went up Beaver Creek. He said the ratio of undersized crappie to keepers was about 10:1. I think that is the last time they go up there night fishing.
