I'm looking to make some rod holders, need aluminum tubing 7/8" anyone know where to buy around Raleigh aread?

Check Lowes and Home Depot they only sell heavy piping, at least that's all I could find.

We have a couple places in Winston Salem that I'm sure will have it if you can't find any down your way.

I am in Lexington but I stock 7/8" aluminum tubing in 10 ft lengths. I also carry 7/8" and 1" 16 gauge stainless tubing in 10 ft lengths. This is the exact tubing that most T-bars are made of. You can call me and I can price it for you and even cut it for you.

1/2" rigid aluminum conduit has an outside diameter of @ 0.840" (I just measured a piece of scrap) which is 0.035" smaller than 7/8". If that is close enough, most electrical supply company's should have it in stock. You may also find aluminum tubing at a machine shop.

Yadkin Guide was answering at the same time I was. I'd rather buy it from a crappie.com'er than someone else.

On line metals Online Metal Store | Small Quantity Metal Orders | Metal Cutting, Sales & Shipping | Buy Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Stainless | Metal Product Guides at OnlineMetals.com and metals supermarkets Metal Supermarkets are decent but somewhat pricey.

I have a local metal supplier that deals with anyone and he usually has stock sizes available. Special order materials are kinda tricky depending on who has it. Some of the larger houses locally will not sell to individuals or have a 500 minimum buy.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll try the electrical conduit first, since I can get that local.

Some scrapyards around my neck of the woods sells"scrap" aluminum.Ive made a lot of stuff out of it.Sometimes its new stuff, just ends and short pieces, other times they will have whole lengths of different kinds of stock.. Not sure if you have any in your area or not,but it may be worth a try.The place I go to you never know just what you may find that trip.I have bought stuff from Maynard(YadkinGuide) before also ,great guy yo do business with as well..
