Default Blewitt Falls with the kids 3-2-13

Took a couple friends with their kids to Blewitt Falls Saturday for some catfishing. When we planned the trip the weather forecast was for 54 degrees and sunny with a bit of unsettled weather moving in later in the evening. As the day got closer the weather forecast deteriorated, but everyone decided to go ahead and give it a go. Got to the lake around 6:30am to cold but manageable temperatures. Unfortunately we never saw the sun, but the kids did get the joy of seeing a bit of snow while we fished. LOL All the boats had propane heaters on them, so everyone stayed pretty toasty all day. Fishing was slow in the morning, but as we moved up the lake it got better. Caught fish from 30' - 2'. Ended up catching about 20 fish between the three boats from 6 oz. to 29 lbs. Caught shad the day before locally, so was able to fish the whole time. Tied up together at luch time and pulled out the grill and grilled up some hotdogs. Fun day with friends and kids. Had 11 of us total spead over the three boats. Here are a few pics.

Mike how's the water. Squirrel season is out and and I'm ready for a cold beer and fishing.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Great trip! Those kids will remember that trip forever and brag about how cold it was and the giant fish they caught.
