    Ordered it yesterday off amazon, any do,s and don't s when I get ready to mount it? All advice is welcome!

    You will like it. For the first 10 hours on the lake you want catch any fish. You will be playing with the depth finder and not fishing. Seems like mine is still in demo mode. See all these fish and bait on the screen all the time and can't catch them. Lol. Every now and then get lucky. Haha

    Congratulations! You'll really enjoy it! I didn't have any problems with installation. The directions are pretty good.

    What about trolling speeds, I heard sometimes they get a doughnut, calm down newly !

    They work great on down imaging at slow and slower speeds, I also use mine for search and recovery.

    I have some questions on this too, CrappieTuttle, hope you dont mind.

    Can you still see when you are on plane? ... would it change your ability to see on plane with it transom mounted or through the hull? If you use transom mount do you think putting a guard on it is a good idea?

    In switchfire mode, it will read just fine on plane providing a good transducer installation. SI and DI are designed for very slow speeds. I'm not familiar with the gaurds.

    It works like a regular unit wide open, with gps working great, di and si work but lots better at slow speed as my old brain can only see so much so fast. i mounted mine per instruction in box, no guards, never had a problem, as i think about the guard may interfere with the unit as it needs a clear line of sight down and sideways to work the best, when on my pontoon in the middle on the motor mount only the down imaging worked. The side imaging was blocked by the pontoons.
