forgot, color was brown/orange and white/orange...temp I found was 69... There has to be a way to tighten that tm down so it doen't turn every which way If I take my foot off the peddle.....
That was my second time longlining and maybe my last lol.. at least till I get a better trolling motor.. Yesterday I got into some fish above the bridge in 4-5 fow.. not real big ones but got to catch some fish anyway including one double. The problem for me was when I'd get a fish on, I'd loose boat control..

I REEEAAALLLLYY enjoy my remote control trolling motor when longline trolling for crappie and livebaiting for stripers. Glad you got out there and on some!

It's called I-pilot! Tony, I know where you are coming from. It is hard to long line from the front of the boat, I did it for years. But you cannot stop or make sharp turns either when fishing more than 1 or 2 rods. I used to take 2x4's and stick them under the "heel' and "toe of the foot control so it couldn't turn and leave it on continuous run. You had to remove them when you did want to turn, but it helped. Even if you don't get an I pilot, a remote is wonderful, as it allows you to move around the boat and not be "locked" into the front seat. Good luck brother!
Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!
I-pilots rule if you can't afford one finance it LOL; As for the longlining put four out the back two (one on each side) 12 or 16 footers off the front and maybe a couple straight down off each side. I have used this setup for a long time and haven't had any problems turning; just do it gradual. Hope this helps you out
You gotta get a minnkota tony and throw that motorguide out// serioulsly, longlining is the easiest way to catch big numbers of fish. I love it by myself cause I can sit in back of boat with 6 or 8 rods out and just use the remote. dont ever stop trolling while you have rods out or u will hang all of em up. Monday I had 2 16 ft rods and 2 12 ft rods out on front of boat and no problems. I longline year round usually, unless some perch jerker goes with me wantin to use minnows//
