Default Crappie nibbles vs. Berkley trout bait

I was by the tackle shop the other day and they had some jars of trout bait for 3.79. On a whim I picked up a jar just to see what the difference was. The trout bait comes in a lot of flavors but the "Extra Scent" glitter trout bait is what I got in chartreuse.

I can't tell any difference at all between it and the nibbles. It smells the same and all. The one thing though is it is a bit thinner and squirts out of a syringe better than the nibbles do. Not to mention it comes in 1.75 oz vs. .9 oz that the nibbles are. So far in my price checking, its cheaper to go with the trout bait. I don't really see how it would fish any different if you are using it to fill tubes with, which is what I'm doing with it. May have just cut the cost of doing that in half.

I imagine if you wanted to tip a bare hook the nibbles would be better as they are a bit stouter but it really seems like its the same stuff just the thickness (viscosity) is different.

I'll fish with it this week and see.

I've used in in AK ice fishing as well but what got me was finding a flavor seemingly no different than the nibbles considering the cost difference.

I've used powerbait at stocked trout lakes in California before I moved out here. Any flavor with glitter worked best than without it. I've tried it here too when the season opens.

As far as Crappie Nibbles, I haven't used it and do they float just like the regular powerbait does?

Nibbles and other attractants are a lot like make up on a lady. It can make a bait appear more appealing. The scent is like perfume, and just like what a lady wears the wrong scent can run off your intended target. When you pick up a lady at a club all painted up they might look like a 10, but the next morning when all the paint has been rubbed off it's chew the arm off time. At least that 's what I read in a magazine onetime.
