    Default Crappie fishing near LeJeune?

Hey all, got a question. I live in Missouri and on the board here a lot. I got a good friend who joined the Corps who I turned him into a crappie fishing fanatic a couple years back. He's in Africa now and gonna be stationed at lejeune. Question is where can he hook some slabs near there? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Proof is in the pictures. Top is nine and bottom is Slabbenstein!

I used to be stationed there. I spoke with a few Wildlife Officers while I was out and about fishing. I was told that there was really nowhere to catch Crappie there unless you had a boat and went up the New River or traveled north to the Tar River....

BUT the base ponds are filled with HUGE Bluegills and many of the surrounding creeks have some slab Shellcrackers other panfish in them. Just be mindful of the snakes and gators.....!!!

LeJeune is right on the ocean, so he may want to take advantage of the situation and do some saltwater fishing. Redfish, flounder, trout--all are right in the area and he should be able to find plenty of places to shore fish.
