My Father used to fish a lot on Macintosh. He had a hard time finding any large fish, so he goes to Jordan most of the time. After you leave the landing and go under the bridge, start looking for beaver lodges about halfway up the lake. A number of the coves to your left and right will have a lodge in them. You can throw jigs or minnows under corks. Good luck and maybe you can find some of the large ones.

What he said. Ive yet to find any "large" fish in that lake. Mostly 8-10 inch fish.

If you're just TM powered you might try running back into Beaver Creek. Lots of spawning cover back that way, places to hide from the wind, and no wakes from power boats.
You just gonna sit there an argue, or fish?

I used to fish this lake alot from a john boat before I bought the boat I currently have.

I mostly fished the Guilford side and caught all of the 8-10" crappie one would ever need around the bridges. The fishing gets better on this lake latter than the rest. I have always done the best on this one in late may and early june.

There are some big ones in there, but your really need to weed through the small ones.
