I would have thought Flat swamp would have been clear. good report, thanks i may have to go to Badin Sat. Do you think it will be fish able by Sat?
Yep, its hard to believe but I went fishing today with a buddy of mine. Passed up the main channel at Southmont because it looked awful, passed Buddle Creek because it looked awful to.
I decided to go to Flat Swamp, we put in and it was awful, the muddiest and trashiest I have ever seen it. Dodging logs and trash we zigzaged toward the main channel. We got to the other end, and you could see a solid wall of logs, trash and scum on the main channel side.
We caught about 20 crappie, 14 were 6 to 7 inches, and 6 were over 11 inches, the largest being 13 inches most by just drifting, to much trash to troll. Saw plenty of fish on structure, not much on our condos, but ever hump and stump I saw had fish on it. There were no 8 to 10 inch crappies at all, they were either 6 or 7 or over 11 inches.
Minnows and jigs all in 15-20 feet of water, nothing in water less than 15 feet. My highlight of the day was when I hooked something on a crappie jig, I picked the rod up out of the holder and pulled back...it surged two or three times, and broke my line. I figure it was a striper or catfish.
By 3:00 pm the water was clearing somewhat, it can only be better tomorrow and I am going again.

I PRACTICE CATCH & FRY---WHEN I CAN FISH AND CATCH:D
Good to hear a report from you poppop and glad to hear you could get on the water on this beautiful day.
Sounds like a bit of a challenge trying to find some good water to fish in with the mud and debris.
Glad you got on some and good luck to you tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

Is it going to be clear by next Saturday Rick?
Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!
I was planning on Tuckertown this weekend. Is it fishable???
I have found the best part of this web site is not only the reports but the lake conditions. Since I have to drive 60 miles+ to fish HR or TT it always helps and saves me the gas. Thanks again all!
Thanks for the report.I am going to give it another week.Thank you.
Poppop, I will try to pick up where ya'll left off tomorrow. I am going to put in at Buddle creek around 7:00 AM. I plan to fish some little crreks that run out of deep necks and coves. Maybe I will see ya'll down there.
