    Default Jordan Limit 4-20-10

Late report for yesterday at Jordan Lake, dark when I got home and had 20 Crappie to clean, but better a late report then never. I will try to give as much information as I can because I really enjoy reading reports from others that are actually informative.
I know it's great you caught 100 fish but how and where is really much more helpful to others that are just learning or simply would like to catch some fish as well.

Fishing Method: Fished Alone, Long line bobber trolling 5 rods behind the boat.
Tried various jigs and bodies and one live minnow.....(only caught 3 fish on minnows all day, so next time out I will not be stopping at the bait shop for live bait.)

Day started great in Bush Creek fishing water 11' deep caught 3 keepers right away then nothing for 1/2 hour or so then over the next few hours caught 3 more keepers and a few small ones scattered here and there in water 6' to 11' deep. Thought about moving to Oak Island but slowly trolled out into deeper water where Bush Creek starts - within eyesite of Farrington Point Ramp and thats were the day got to be nothing but fun!!

Caught my first 12" crappie in 14' of water on a Yellow/Black body Orange tail Kalin's Triple Threat the next two Crappie were both caught on the same lure so I changed all 5 rods to the same 1/16 ounce jig and Kalin's jig body.
Caught better then 40 fish even had one triple hook up and somehow managed to land all three of which 2 were keepers. Filled the live well with 20 nice fish a couple 10 1/2" but most were 11 1/2" to 12 1/2" with one 13" and one 14 1/4" slab.

First time ever having the right Jig body at the right time and place, Truly a day I will remember.

Yea when the moons align(and the fish are biting) nothing better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish....hmmm...and live on a teacher's wages? Just give the guy the flippin' fish already..

Good report and looks like it was a great day on the water. My father and I had one of those magic days a couple of years ago near Farrington and I still have the pictures.

    nice work.

when trolling bobbers do you watch the bobbers or the rods? i tried this earlier this year to help control my depth in a really snaggy area. i had a hard time seeing the bobbers.

Great report and pictures. I know you were not trying to stir up anything but one reason I personaly don't give out all the information in my post is because there are so many on this site who read just to find out where and when there biting and do not give any info back. But if anyone sends a private message asking questions and I recognize that they participate I will gladly answer all questions, (with the limited knowledge I have) But again, that was a great report, looks like the weather might come into play this weekend so I hope I can make it out to Jordan without getting wet.

Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!
