Has anyone built their own dipping long pole?

If so, what type of blank did you use?

A friend of mine use to make them out of steelhead fly rod blanks.

After doing some research, it doesn't look like I can wrap one as cheap as I can buy one and I know what I'm getting when I buy one off the rack.

That's probably true. By the time you add all the guides you need the action will change quite a bit.

Everhart's has Ozark original dipping rods for $28. Have bought a couple, and they are super sensitive. Can barely buy handles and guides for that price.

I have a ton more of them original Ozark rods. They are hard to beat for the money. I was buying the same ozark rod 10-12 years back at the old store location for $45. So buying one now you can get a $15 Quantum Optix added to it for about the same as I was paying back then for just the rod. I've got hundreds more of them so if someone needs some before the price goes back up on them come see me at the store.
