    Default Fishing journal

Was wondering how many of you guys and gals keep a fishing journal? I'm thinking of starting one and have been looking for an established journal/format. I'm thinking of recording lake name, date, water temp, ambient temp, barometric press, recent weather patterns, any thermocline noticed, where fish were found, how many caught, and what they where hitting on. Is there anything else anyone would recommend? Figured this couldn't hurt and I'm sure I'll learn a lot from it. Would maybe help to establish patterns for future years.

I keep two cdc calendars on my freezer next to the boat last year and this year. In the space just keep where who and what caught. Kind of funny when you compare cause off days and on days seem to run at the same or close to dates.

Been doing that for years. I just use small spiral notebooks. Actually keep 2 kinds. One is by the years and each trip with info. The other one is yearly to but has every day in it. I put what kind, how many and where on each day. I can look at that for the day and them go to corresponding notebook to find specifics. Yes it seems like no fish days are at the same time each year.

Water clarity, water depth and fish depth (although that might be included under "where fish were found"), fish size (relative to numbers?) Wind speed/direction. General notes/description, if needed.

I kept one for a while, but it was more useful on tracking weather and lake conditions than it was for tracking fishing!

If you have GPS might include coordinates of locations you caught fish.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

What kind of trees...whether they had leaves on them....how many times I wrapped around a branch.....how many lures I left dangling among the branches.
