My boat has vinyl from factory, its an 04. I've had it 3 years.
Durable, yes.
Two years ago I extended the front deck, I used vinyl, since the boat already had it. I was surprised by the color match, very close. So as for fading, not that I've noticed. Granted, when not in use, its in the garage or covered.
Gets hot, yes. Keep your shoes on!
Gouge easy, no. The last time I put attractors out, I dropped a cinder block, that gouged it. Its also hit on a corner of the block. Missed my foot though!
I glued down a cushoined pad where I stand, that has helped the comfort level.
Pros: hooks do not get caught in it.
Cleans up real easy, hose it down.
I've not noticed it getting real slippery when wet. I fish in the rain also.
Easy to work with/apply.
Does not hold water like carpet.
Cons: gets hot.
If I ever replace all of it, I'll put some sort of padding under it. Its not near as soft as carpet. The nice glass boats do this.
I will replace with vinyl when the time comes.
Drinkin coffee, missin fish.
