    Default Update on Mrs JJ

Hello everyone - Mrs JJ (Sue) here
Just wanted to thank everyone for your kind words and prayers. It has been 3 wks since my shoulder surgery to repair rotator cuff tear, remove large bone spur and also repair torn bicep tendon - I started physical therapy immediately at home with Gary's help and then started going to Brad Johnson Physical Therapy 3 times a week starting one wk after surgery. So far I have had 7 sessions of physical therapy and it hasn't been as bad as I had prepared myself for ( I had been told it is the most painful rehabs) Today Brad told me I am doing very well and he expects an excellent outcome. I return to my surgeon on Feb 5 and I expect he will prescribe more physical therapy for strength at that point. I am still wearing my sling 99% of the time - including sleeping in it which is not a lot of fun but that is what they have told me to do and I don't want to mess this up - as it is I fell on the ice just a wk after surgery - just after my surgeon cautioned me to be careful and not to fall - fortunately I didn't do any damage and it seems to be improving every day. Gary has done an amazing job taking care of me - cooking all the meals and seeing to all my needs. I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through it without him!!

Hope to see everyone on the water soon! and Thanks Again!!

I am glad to hear your rehab is going well. My wife had a very similar surgery last June. She is doing great now. Best wishes on a great recovery.

Good to hear you are progressing well, Sue....try to push yourself on your range of motion during the PT. You can do the strength training the rest of your life, but you only have a certain window of time after surgery to get as much motion as you can. Does Gary wear a cute little apron with ruffles and stuff when he's cooking? If so, we will pay for photos!!
