I bit the bullet last year and bought a Gravely 42" Zero Turn mower, after about 10 minutes of looking like a blindfolded drunk I figured it out and never looked back. Mine has been great, has the Kawasaki Vtwin engine and is a mowing beast. If you mow a lot and have stuff to go around the Zero Turns are definitely the way to go, cut my mowing time in half, even my son likes it so we have to fight over who gets to mow.

I have a Gravely and I like it. 44z zero turn mower. If I had to do it over I would have bought a 54 or 60 in. I bought it 5-6 years ago and mow a little over 2 acres. Only thing I have done is replace the belts this year, the starting solenoid this year, and had to tighten up the hose to holds the hydro fluid. Overall, It was money very well spent. The mower deck is built like a tank and it has been reliable.

I know other mowers are great because I "test drove" a lot of brands. If you have dealers close, you could probably get by this year by just "trying" them to see if you like them. I agree with MO Panfisher as zero turn mower cut my mowing time in 1/2 . Good luck.
