    Default Went to Cabelas the other day, disappointing


    So made the two hour journey to cabelas the other day to pick up some archery supplies and left with a dissappointed attitude, first I havent been there since December and they had done some remodeling so it took awhile to locate some stuff, 2nd the customer service SUCKED!! couldnt find anybody in the archery dept to help me out with questions about some new items and when I did find somone he wasnt very helpful or personable, in my line of work we call them ADAM HENRY (take the A and the H and put them in another form,,you can figure it out) I mean for the prices they charge youd think that askin to cut my arrows to length wouldnt be a problem, then I took the wife and kids upstairs to eat,,,whada ripoff!! they dont serve any of the elk or buffalo samiches anymore, you dont get fries with your samiches anymore they dont have anything pre prepped so it takes forever to get your food it cost almost $50 for two philly steaks samiches a cheeseburger and three orders of nachos and 6 drinks, $12 for the 6 drinks and the place was dirty,, so i decide i should go before i made an ADAM HENRY outta myself and went to the checkouts, first line i went to stood there for ten mins waiting on these two girls who were trying to get approved for a credit card so got tired of waitin and went to another line, stood there for another 6 mins cause the hispanic customers couldnt figure out what phone number to give the cashier then couldnt figure out which credit card to use, then couldnt decide which soda they wanted out of the cooler next to the checkout line, soo went to a third line and stood there another 5 or 6 mins cause the machine wouldnt accept the guys debit card so they kept running it back and forth to the customer service desk trying to get the card to work,,,alas!!! my turn! and kindly informed the customer service lady that stands there at the front of the checkouts to make sure everything goes smoothly that cabelas would never ever again recieve one dam dollar of mine and that I would be going to other big front sporting goods stores to spend my money...

    CABELAS,,SHAME ON YOU!!!!

    You should have just come to Lineville and seen me! And then went over to Randys and got the family some ice cream you would have saved some money. And we speak English over here! :D

    I don't know nothing about bow hunting but I do know about pyro! Shoot the deer with bottle rockets!!!!!:D:D:D

    man bummer, only been to cabelas once, long time ago, and it was awsome, sorry your trip was not, sometimes them small stores are great, I remember buying my fishing stuff out of the brown derby liquor store before it became what it is today.

    oh normally in the past everytime I went to cabelas it was a great trip! always had what I wanted, always helpfull staff and friendly staff,checkout lines usually went smoothly, but not this trip!

    we have a small archery shop here in town but he was closed this week and has a limited amount of merchandise on hand, DMW your right I woulda saved a lot more cash had I just went to Lineville...

    Sorry your experience wasn't any better than it was. I'm sure they were just having a bad day. You should feel completely satisfied no matter the experience. After all, this is a wonderful world we live in and the birds are singing and the sun will come up in the morning.

    I agree with you that Cabela's has been in a bit of a decline in terms of quality service. It appears that the reorganization of the store was also not too popular with some of the salespeople. However, they do have some things that some of the other folks (including Bass Pro) don't have. I would also suggest going to Roger's - I have been dealing with them for a number of years and they have a good selection, good prices, and good service. There is also the benefit of supporting a local business.

    well im sure i will go back cause it is a nice place, and i probably wouldnt have had the $h!tyy attitude about the experience and would have probably overlooked everything even the restuarant issue,,but,,,the guy in the archery dept was a total A--HOLE and thats what really set me off cause i did travel 105 miles one way to get there and did spend well,,,,lets say a butt load of cash, im over it, no biggie just needed to vent and blow off a little steam about the whole thing and you poor folks just had to be the ones to get the crap end of this post,,,,,to all i am sorry for that.:p

    Dayum bro, don't apologize. We all need to hear about this stuff. A place offers bad service, they deserve to be called out. Lost business is the best way in the world to improve customer service. If YOU get bad service, then that means EVERYONE will get bad service. I know for sure that Cabelas would want to know about bad customer service; atleast the OLD Cabelas would want to know. Been giving them my business for years, and swear by them, if their customer service starts to fall then I for sure want to know. I been giving my business to the KC store for years; I hope they get the message and improve things or I won't hesitate to give my $$ elsewhere.
