    Default My boat problem, give me your input.


    I've got a Skeeter SS90 and here is the problem I have.

    This is not a big boat nore does it have a deep draft. I have a problem with it when I fill my gas tank full and run down the road. The problem is that the top of the tank is probably only two to three inches lower than the outlet of the gas vent on the side of the boat. The vent is on the passenger side of the boat. So when I run down the road and turn to the right fairly sharply you can look back and gas is just pouring out the vent tube. I would hate to be the guy following me down the road.

    So I was thinking about putting a longer vent hose back in the tank area and just coiling it around hoping that this might help with the flow of the gas running out the vent. Right now the hose just runs straight from the top of the tank over to the vent. Anyway, just looking to see if any of you guys might have any suggestions.

    I Would Suggest Saving The Gas And Giving It To Me......... Coiling Sounds Like It Might Work.. Worth A Try.......

    coiling may not be the way to go. reason,air restriction may be a problem, those tanks are a joke at the best and the design is eaven worse,

    How bout I just leave my boat on empty when I'm fishing Truman, then you can just bring me gas to the ramp and we fill it up there? Then I don't have the problem of losing gas on the way to the water.

    Better yet, I just leave my boat at home and meet you at the ramp and fish in your boat. :D

    I agree with Beagle, not sure I would coil it. You may end up with liquid in one of the coils and prevent the tank from being able to vent properly.

    I was thinking the same thing about the coils and gas getting trapped in the coil. You might want to call Skeeter and ask them, this may be a common problem and they may have already solved it.

    Default get the boat to ride higher while being towed

    I had a lund that did that and I was hauling it with a s15 jimmy at the time I got an offset reciever and raised the bow and it was fine then I got a fullsize truck and it never happened again .....just a thought my boats was designed to ride bow high so when level it had that problem good luck
