    Default braided line

just wondering how many use braided line for jigging standing timber versus a good abrasion resistant monofilament. i tried 14# fireline last summer but when i broke a lot of brush when i got hung. thought about 8# vicious this year. thanks for your responses

I use fire line and I like it but I always have a back up with hi-vise just in case. I fyou use the vicious let me know if you like it! I was throwing the idea around of trying their hi-vis line.

I use 8# Power Pro especially going into ceders and any heavy brush. I like it too in the spring when the water is up and muddy and the fish are back in the brushy jungle like mess on the banks back in the creek arms, power up and go in after them, don't showem any mercy!

I hired a guide out of bucksaw on Truman last year. He turned me on to Sufix braid low vis green which I liked quite a bit. I don't believe it works well in all waters though.

I started using Fireline Crystal on two crappie rods last year, and stuck with my BPS Crappie line on the other two. I really like the sensitivity of the Fireline for jigging and plan to try it with a fluorocarbon leader this year.

I've been using Fireline on all but one baitcasting combo and my heavier spinning combos for several years and absolutely love it. Break offs are rare and usually result from me not peeling off several feet after heavy casting use. You only have to send a couple $4 spinnerbaits into orbit before you realize what's going on and how to correct the problem.

We use Suffix braid in orange or fire color.

I really like the suffix braid in 6#. Gonna try the 10# orange this year. Fish with a guy and all he uses is the 10#, swears by it. He catchs a lot of fish too, of course we don't fish a lot of clear water.

When I'm vertical jigging I use Fireline hi-vis. It's awesome, however it doesn't work well when pitching or casting.

Cabelas Ripcord SI 10lb test/ 2lb diameter hi-vis yellow is all I use now adays. Casting or jigging. It's the best going and I've tried a bunch.
