i gotta tell you, Cabelas has a spring combo.....its just a 5' 6" IM6 rod, I can literally put a jig into your nose hole from 15 yards away.

    deadly accurate, and perfect flex.

I have a BassPro micro light......not so much, not enough body, it works, just not as accurate as the Cabelas rod

The whole reason i bought the rod was bc they were giving away, in my opinion, the best light reel on the market today. The Shakespeare dimension....10 ball bearings....thing is the smoothest reel I have ever owned, you flick the handle and off she goes! love it

I went to a crappie seminare the first of the year that Charlie & Travis put on at Center City Marine here in Spfd & I beleave Charlie said he use's a BM 5ft he was demoing his tatic & he was preety good with it. I looked at it & it had a good balance to it. I thought about getting one but we fish Truman mostly & no docks to shoot.

I like a shooting rod that is extra fast, and only has action up in the top 1 1/2' of the rod. All the bend is up by the rod tip, and it gives you a little better control.

Depends on water clarity for me.
If it is dirty and I stay close I use a 5'6".
If it is clear I stay out further and use a 8'.
    All Ozark of course.
