Yeah, yeah, yeah..........but.......any fish??
Met the DR around 8 at Bucksaw this morning. Great fishing partner. Great boat. Great weather conditions. Great demonstration on how to combat ice covered waters. I think I heard a few times that they were "stacked up in there like cord wood" and "biguns" to. Lake is looking better. Little dirty still up from Bucksaw. Looked good going on down from there. Fun day on the lake Jim. Will have to do it again soon.

Enough suspense. Lets just say Angel Cove did not even give up a fish. It was slow and I still have not caught a keeper for the 09 season. Jim put a few in the boat. Plus a handful or two of shorts. But it was a beutiful day to be out on the water or ice. We started by knocking holes in the ice to get our jigs down. Would have been cool to pull one through the ice if they would have been biting. Off to the Sports show for the day.
Perhaps a little more of an explanation is in order. Fishing was great. Catching sucked. We could see 'em, but catching them was another matter. It didn't seem like they would hit out on the main lake, but the mouths of coves did produce a few - very few. All in all, it was a fun day though - I always have a good time fishing with Jared. And the "demonstration on how to combat ice filled waters"? We slammed into a 1/4 - 1/2" skim of ice on plane at about 45 mph. Made alot of noise and puckered me in a hurry. I'm still trying to get my shorts pulled out. I'm going to go down to the barn and clean up my boat and look at the hull to see what it did. I learn something every time I go fishing. That nice calm water may be calm, but isn't always nice.
Jim - Have boat - will travel.
Just looked it over. No damage that I can see. Got by lucky this time. I've got to start paying closer attention. Good fishing.

wooh man glad all is fine sirs. dont need any bad reports on boat repairs from ice damage... later man
I was fishing at sparrow foot a couple years ago. I broke ice two inch thick the whole time.
When I was about to leaving I heard a boat running full speed. Sure enough an older guy(80’s) pulled in on plain. He was in an older brown champion. He said not to worry just go straight as you can. I started on my trip back still at an idle when half way back here he comes full speed breaking new ice. I figure he can do it so can I and away I went.
